Houston A+ Challenge is an independent nonprofit that has supported local public school improvement and education leadership development since 1997.
Our mission is to be a catalyst for change in the public schools that educate nine of every ten children in our region, teaming with principals and teachers in targeted schools to ensure that every student is prepared for post-secondary success.

Who We Serve
In the 2012-13 school year, Houston A+ Challenge works with students, families, teachers and school leaders in the following 16 Houston-area public school districts: Aldine, Alief, Brazosport, Cypress-Fairbanks, Galveston, Goose Creek, Hitchcock, Houston, Humble, KIPP, Pasadena, Sheldon, Spring, Spring Branch, Wharton and YES Prep.
Since our founding, Houston A+ Challenge has served as the region's advocate for public school transformation, providing a catalyst for innovations, an engine for systemic change, and a galvanizing force for public, private, and corporate investment in public schools.
Each year, more than 90 percent of our budget goes directly to helping teachers, principals and districts improve school leadership, teaching and learning for thousands of Houston-area students.

How We Work
Houston A+ Challenge works collaboratively with public school districts to challenge all students to reach higher levels of success in school and in life.
Our seasoned team of coaches works alongside teachers, school leaders and district officials to improve classroom teaching, school leadership and district efficiency, so that more students achieve at high levels indicative of post-secondary readiness.
