Rally to Celebrate National School Choice Week 2013

Houston, Texas to play key role in nation’s largest celebration of education reform

[Houston, Texas] – Families Empowered is partnering with a broad-sector of Houston's school leadersparents, teachers, students, and elected officials to host a special event in celebration of National School Choice Week 2013. The event, Houston Rally for School Choice – Putting Families First!, will be held on February 2, 2013 at 2pm and will shine a spotlight on the need to expand access to educational options for all children.  Organizers expect close to 500 families to attend this event along with community leaders.

By participating in National School Choice Week 2013, Families Empowered joins hundreds of organizations, thousands of groups, and millions of Americans in raising awareness about the need to empower parents with the ability to choose the best educational environments for their children. These options include high-performing public schools, public charter schools, magnet schools, private schools, online learning, and homeschooling.
